QTS Data Centers is developing a six-building data center campus, which it says is a $2 billion investment, at 2883 Gordon Highway in west Augusta, between the Haynes Station and Captain's Corner neighborhoods. The site was first rezoned in 2022 for a smaller T5 Data Centers project, and developer Eagle South LLC won approval for an expanded version in June 2024. Tree clearing began in 2026 and local news describes the campus as under construction, while QTS says detailed site plans are still under city review and expects its first building to be completed in spring 2028. Augusta's 2026 pause on new data centers does not apply to the project, and several neighbors say they did not know about it until local news reported on it.
