This policy covers datacentercensus.com and its embeds, feeds and data files, published under the name Data Center Census by AI Laws By State LLC (“we” or “us”).
In short
The site has no accounts, sign-up forms, advertising, analytics or tracking pixels. We set no cookies of our own and store nothing in your browser. We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t build profiles of visitors.
What is processed when you visit
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to filter automated traffic, and runs a small script that hides our email address from spam bots.
- Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which receives your IP address and browser details in order to send the font files.
- Maps. Interactive maps load their map images from OpenFreeMap and the MapLibre map library from jsDelivr. Those services receive your IP address, and the map images requested show the general area being viewed.
- Embeds. Our widgets on other websites load from this site and from Google Fonts in the same way, and set no cookies.
ZIP code and location searches
When you search by ZIP code on the near-me tool, the ZIP code is sent to our database provider, Supabase, to look up the U.S. Census Bureau’s coordinates for it. We don’t keep a record of searches or link them to you, although Supabase may keep standard service logs, including IP addresses, for a limited time. If you choose “Use my location”, your browser asks your permission, and your coordinates are used only on your device to measure distances; they are never sent to us. The share image is drawn on your device and is not uploaded.
If you email us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and message. We use them to reply, to review corrections and tips, and to keep a record of changes we make. We keep correspondence as long as it is useful for those purposes, and we don’t publish your name or message without your permission.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, which in practice is limited to any correspondence, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. We honor these requests from anyone, wherever they live. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Where information is processed
The site is operated from the United States, and the service providers above may process data in the United States and other countries.
Changes
If our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top.
