Google has three approved data center sites in Chesterfield County: a 300-plus-acre campus on Bermuda Hundred Road near Meadowville Technology Park, 880 acres at Upper Magnolia Green and 350 acres within Watkins Centre South. The Bermuda Hundred Road campus was announced in August 2025 as part of Google's plan to invest $9 billion in Virginia through 2026 and is under construction with three buildings, and the county has capped water use there at 6 million gallons per day. Residents have called for more transparency about the projects, which were unveiled before Google's involvement was made public.
