Fleet Data Centers, a subsidiary of Tract Capital Management, is developing two data center campuses, South Valley and Peru Ridge, at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. It plans to power them for two to three years with private gas plants of more than 360 MW until NV Energy can provide permanent service; Nevada regulators approved the plants in September 2026. The project sits within a wider debate over northern Nevada power supply: NV Energy plans to stop supplying about 49,000 Liberty Utilities customers at Lake Tahoe once its Greenlink West line is built, and some coverage linked that to data center demand. NV Energy says data centers did not influence that decision.
