CloudHQ is redeveloping a former airline campus in Mount Prospect into a data center campus; ComEd said in August 2022 that construction was underway on the first phase of the $2.5 billion, 1.5 million-square-foot campus, and CloudHQ says the site will deliver as much as 300 MWs of critical IT load. The revised plan calls for two three-story structures rather than three two-story buildings, plus a second electrical substation. The Daily Herald reported in July 2026 that the development on the 50-acre site at Algonquin Road, Linneman Road and Dempster Street is still under construction.
