Aligned Data Centers is building Project Phoenix, a 2 GW data center campus spanning three facilities in the Shippingport Industrial Park, on the former site of the Bruce Mansfield coal-fired power plant in Beaver County. Aligned says the campus will be powered by its own dedicated onsite source instead of drawing from the local electrical grid, and will be cooled by a closed-loop system designed to need no water for operational cooling. Aligned closed on a 650.89-acre property in Shippingport in July 2026 and announced the groundbreaking on September 10, 2026.
