Dallas-based Compass Datacenters plans five data center buildings totaling 1.34 million square feet on about 333 acres on Stamey Farm Road in Statesville, with power from a nearby Duke Energy substation. The Statesville City Council approved the rezoning 8-0 in September 2025. The city says the previously approved project is exempt from a proposed 150-day moratorium on new data center applications.
