QTS Data Centers is building a data center campus, first announced in 2023 as a $1 billion investment, near Lake Wylie in unincorporated York County, South Carolina, close to Hands Mill Highway and Campbell Road. QTS now describes an $8 billion project of about nine buildings, with the first expected to be operational by 2028.
